Guests on the latest Naked Short Club discussed the eurozone crisis and other issues facing the global economy. Successes in 2011 for the hedge fund industry were also talked about.

The problems in the eurozone and the general instability of the market were among the hot topics discussed at the Naked Short Club.

Conversation expanded to include the emerging markets, in particular Latin America and specifically Brazil as well as the other Bric countries: Russia, India and China.

Questions were asked about whether these developing economies can maintain their relative stability and growth in 2012. Against this backdrop, the future of the world's major currencies was also considered.

Guests joining Dr Stu included Stephen Isaacs, CEO at ECU; Stephen Pope, CEO at Spotlight; Marc Ostwald, strategist at Monument; Bill McIntosh, editor, Hedge Fund Journal; and Anthony Payne, CEO at Peregrine. The guests were joined from the US by Mike Gasior, CEO of AFS.

Hedge fund-specific issues including who has been making money and how this year as well as why it has been so difficult for many hedge fund strategies to boost performance.
