Citigroup global transaction services has appointed Benoit Dethier as financial institutions coverage head for Spain based in Madrid He will report to Dario Mesonero-Romanos, Iberia cluster head, and Patrizia Rizzo, financial institution southern EU cluster head. Previously, Dethier was at JP Morgan worldwide securities services where he was a sales manager looking after triparty collateral management senior sales and relationships in a number of EU countries.
Otkritie Securities has appointed Howard Snell as executive chairman. The company has also promoted Evgeny Kunts to deputy CEO. In addition Otkritie will be building its sales trading team in London. It has relocated head of equity trading Nicholas Richmond from Moscow to London. Otkritie Securities is the UK-based subsidiary of Otkritie Financial Corporation, a financial services provider in Russia. It has acted as a broker, asset manager, financial consultant and investment bank since 1995.
Inter-dealer broker Tullett Prebon has added a risk arbitrage desk focusing on mergers and acquisitions. The desk will be based in Jersey City, New Jersey, office and will be led by managing director Philippe Allain. He will report to Tom Bovitz, senior managing director, equities. The risk arbitrage desk will be fully integrated with Tullett Prebon’s existing products and services.
Allain joins from Newedge Group where he was head of risk arbitrage sales. Mourad Jridi, also formerly of Newedge Group, will join as director; Yemi Oshodi, formerly of Ramius Capital Group, will join as managing director; and Rudy Sanchez, formerly of Latam Investments, will join as senior vice president.
Hedge fund and fund of hedge fund administrator Prime Fund Solutions (PFS) has made a number of new hires across its global network of offices. These include Jay Moghe, Martin Lui, Jason Ganz and Stephen Kane. Moghe has joined the Singapore office as deputy managing director in charge of sales and relationship management. Lui has taken on the role of director of client services and operations in Singapore. He was most recently in the alternative fund services division of Citibank in Singapore. Ganz has been appointed vice president of sales and relationship management in the New York office. He previously worked at SunGuard in the securities finance group.
PFS has operations in Ireland, Luxembourg, Isle of Man, Amsterdam, the Cayman Islands, Curacao, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore. It has representative offices in Geneva, London and Tokyo. PFS specialises in a range of services including administration, banking, custody and financing.
