Regulation was high on the agenda for the latest N@ked Short Club broadcast on April 19.

The European Union alternative investment fund managers directive as well as Volcker-Dodd in the US and Iosco initiatives and centralised over the counter (OTC) derivatives clearing were discussed.

Guests on the show debated whether Ucits III is the latest hedge fund must have or just a flash in the pan as well as the many issues surrounding use of this regulated product by hedge funds.

Expert guests appearing on the show included Chris Jones, chief investment officer at Key Asset Management and Fellow at the Judge Institute, Cambridge University; Chris Keen, partner at Culross Global Management; Gus Black, partner at Dechert; Harriet Agnew of Financial News and Ucits expert, Marilyn Ramplin as well as fund management group CEO Dr K Noh.

Music tracks played on the show featured The Orb, Gong, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Hawkwind and Love.

The next broadcast will be on April 26 when special guests include Rufus Warner, managing partner at Earth Capital; SRI expert Mark Campanale; Tushar Patel, CEO of fund of funds HFIM; Caroline Allen, Editor of Global Wealth; NGO/civil society sector finance policy consultant, Sargon Nissan; City head-hunter and writer, Sarah Dudney and from the US, expert investor/commentator Mike Gasior, CEO of AFS.
