The latest appointments within the hedge funds and services industry.

London-based systematic investment manager Aspect Capital has appointed Eduardo Deschapelles as senior North American sales executive. Deschapelles willl report to John Wareham, chief commercial officer. Deschapelles joins from New York's Meridian Capital Partners where he was a partner and business development manager. Deschapelles previously worked at the Permal Group where he was responsible for the development and management of the company's institutional client relationships.

Earth Capital Partners (ECP) has brought on board a sustainable agriculture team to advise on agriculture, forestry and biodiversity investments with a particular focus on investing in Latin America. Bosworth Monck joins as head of sustainable agriculture and forestry investment along with Gabriel Montana and Richard Smith who both join as partners. ECP plans to launch a series of institutional grade funds in these areas, each with a low correlation to traditional asset classes.

Future Capital Partners has appointed Glen Stewart as business development manager. Stewart was most recently business development manager for Ingenious Media Investments.

Tower Watson's global head of investment content, Roger Urwin, has become an advisory director to MSCI Barra. He will advise on key projects relating to the international asset owner community on a part-time basis. Prior to joining Watson Wyatt in 1989, Urwin headed the Mercer investment practice. He has been a member of the MSCI editorial advisory board since its inception in 1998.

GLG Partners has appointed Raffaele Costa as the co-head of marketing. He will work with GLG's co-CEO Emmanuel Roman to develop and execute GLG's global product and distribution strategy. Costa joined GLG as a portfolio manager specialising in US and European equities before being made a principal in 1998. Prior to GLG, he was at Goldman Sachs.

Channel Islands law firm Ogier has appointed eight new partners across its network of offices. Litigator Christopher Russell and funds lawyer Angus Davison become partners in the Cayman Islands alongside Nick Rogers who rejoined Ogier on February 1, 2010 from Walkers. Jane Pearce becomes a partner in Ogier Fiduciary Services' Jersey office, having joined the firm in 2006. Also in Jersey Sally Edwards and Edward Mackereth are made up to the partnership. Edwards specialises in trust law while Mackereth covers a range of financial services disputes and insolvencies. Funds and corporate lawyer Nicholas Plowman becomes a partner in Hong Kong and Paul Perris becomes a partner at Ogier Fiduciary Services in Bahrain.
Ogier also announced recently it would be relocating Guernsey and Jersey lawyers to Hong Kong to offer Channel Islands legal services in Asia. The practice will be headed by Guernsey partner Marcus Leese. The firm already has a Cayman and British Virgin Islands practice in Hong Kong.

Investec Asset Management has appointed Ed Evers to its UK institutional sales team. Evers joins from Fidelity International where he spent 15 years working in the institutional sales channel, most recently heading the Fidelity defined contribution sales effort.

The Qatar Exchange has appointed three executive officers to join the senior management team. Saif Khalifa al-Mansoori has been appointed as deputy CEO, Olivier Gueris as chief operating officer and Karim Hajali as chief commercial officer. Al-Mansoori has 10 years of experience at the Qatar Exchange. Gueris was previously head of market operations at London-based exchange Turquoise Services. Hajali was previously the director of equity and index derivatives Europe at NYSE Liffe.
