Bank of America (BofA) Merrill Lynch Global Research has announced that David Beker is rejoining the company as head of Latin America economics and fixed income strategy. He will be responsible for growth, inflation, exchange rates and fixed income recommendations across Latin America. Beker will be based in New York and will report to Daniel Tenengauzer, head of global emerging markets Fixed Income Strategy. He joins from Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, where he was an emerging markets fixed income portfolio manager.

Masami Tada has been appointed as chairman and CEO of Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe, the European arm of Japanese investment bank Daiwa Securities SMBC. Tada joins the European head office in London from financial consulting and investment advisory arm Daiwa Fund Consulting, where he was president. He replaces Eishu Kosuge who becomes co-global head of investment banking for Daiwa Securities SMBC, based in Tokyo. Daiwa Securities SMBC will be renamed Daiwa Capital Markets in January 2010, when Daiwa Securities Group takes full control of the firm, buying SMBC's 40% minority share.
Heritage Capital, the merchant banking division of family-owned Banque Heritage of Switzerland, has appointed Klaus Henke as managing director of its financial institutions group advisory team, based in London. Henke joins from Dresdner Kleinwort where he was responsible for cross-border mergers & acquisitions and equity capital markets origination.
Hermes BPK Partners, the fund of hedge fund investment partnership within Hermes Fund Managers, has appointed Pierluigi Ricchiuti as senior analyst of credit strategies based in its New York office. Ricchiuti was previously head of credit trading and first vice president at Banca Intesa, responsible for the North American credit derivatives desk.
Tradar has announced the appointment of Gerry Gualtieri as the software company's CEO. Gualtieri comes to Tradar with over 20 years of experience in financial technology covering a number of senior roles, most recently as managing director of global sales at latency management specialist Corvil.
US fund of hedge funds management company Crestline Investors has appointed Rhoni Seguin to head consultant relations. Seguin joins the company from Invesco Institutional.
Julie Egan has joined Community Capital Management as senior vice president and portfolio manager, based in Community Capital's Charlotte, North Carolina office. Egan will be responsible for municipal credit analysis and research on current and new portfolio holdings. Prior to joining Egan was a senior municipal research analyst and director at Evergreen Asset Management Corporation, Wachovia's asset management arm.
State Street Corporation has appointed Linda Morsia as head of trustee customer management for State Street Trustees. Morsia will be responsible for managing UK trustee relationships and joins State Street from Royal Bank of Scotland where she was head of sales and business development for the bank's trustee and depository services.
Statistician Elena Kulinskaya has been appointed as the first Aviva Chair in Statistics at the University of East Anglia (UEA). Kulinskaya was formerly the founding director of the Statistical Advisory Service at Imperial College, London. She will take up her role at UEA in March 2010. The chair will explore the statistical nature of risk.
Independent electronic trading software provider List Group has appointed Davide Pedroni as business development manager in New York. Pedroni has been at List Group since 2000 where he started as a software architect. Since then he has spearheaded List's international expansion with projects in Asia, South Africa, Europe and America.
Independent wrap platform Ascentric has appointed Debbie Steer to its business development team. Reporting to sales director Richard Goodall, Steer will engage with independent financial advisors in supporting adoption of the wrap. She was most recently e-business product Mmanager at 1st-The Exchange.
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform company Backstop Solutions Group has announced the addition of a public relations department. The department will be headed by Andrew Zapotosky, formerly of NYSE Euronext.
