Pure Capital's Pure Protection Fund has joined Alternative Decisions, an investor communication platform.
The Pure Protection fund aims to provide protection to portfolios during equity bear markets, while maintaining or improving returns in bull market environments by using only liquid, listed derivatives on recognised exchanges. These include primarily equity index and commodity derivative products.
The fund is US dollar-denominated and a listed product on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange. The investment adviser is Pure Capital, based in Wellington, New Zealand.
Alternative Decisions helps facilitate communication for alternative investment funds, helping fund managers improve marketing effectiveness. The platform collects qualitative materials from member fund managers and stores them in a library accessible by approved investors.
Pure Capital is a quantitatively-driven investment manager specialising in targeted non-correlation, providing positive investment returns through the investment cycle that are low or negatively correlated with specific geographic, asset class or portfolio benchmarks.
An emerging investment manager, Pure Capital has $43 million in assets under management sourced principally from offshore institutional investors. Pure is a wholesale investment business and is registered with the US NFA as a commodity trading advisor and authorised as a designated funds manager by the New Zealand Securities Commission. Pure Capital is also a member of AIMA and the New Zealand Absolute Return Association.
Launched in the summer of 2009, Alternative Decisions helps alternative investment funds increase their visibility and engage with institutional investors looking for alternative investments. Fund managers pay an annual membership fee to join the platform while qualified investors join for free.
