International asset management company Threadneedle has introduced the Threadneedle (Lux) SICAV following the completion of the integration and restructuring of the World Express investment funds business.

The launch of the SICAV platform is a significant development for Threadneedle. Since its acquisition in May 2009, the Luxembourg-based SICAV platform has undergone a restructuring to complements Threadneedle's product line up and to be more integrated with its core investment capabilities.

Sixteen funds in sectors where Threadneedle has expertise and a performance record will now be under its management. A further seven funds in the range will continue to be managed by sub-advisors.

The review of the range included re-naming certain portfolios and the modification of various investment objectives to reflect the overall fund approach and manager strategy.

Threadneedle, founded in 1994, actively manages £47.183 billion ($67.7 billion) (at March 31, 2009) of assets and provides investment solutions for pension schemes, insurers, private investors, corporations, mutual funds and affiliate group companies. Threadneedle has investment expertise in equities, bonds, property and hedge funds.
