BTIG has expanded its prime brokerage group to offer fixed income services, including trading and portfolio financing. The company is a broker dealer specialising in institutional trading and related brokerage services

In February, BTIG launched its global fixed income group, focusing on sales and trading of credit products across the full credit spectrum. BTIG prime brokerage previously covered only equity and equity options. It decided to move into fixed income as more of its hedge fund clients became interested in this area.

BTIG also offers outsource trading, market intelligence, international trading commission management services as well as having equity derivatives and capital introduction teams.

The prime brokerage group was launched in January 2004 and caters to start-up and existing long/short equity hedge funds.

Founded in 2002 BTIG employs over 350 individuals in offices in the US and serves over 1,200 institutional customers offering services in equity trading, fixed income trading, prime brokerage, outsource trading and direct market access. BTIG has affiliates in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.
