Oesa is a bespoke legal consultancy specialising in the negotiation of all trading documents for Hedge Funds with their Prime Brokers and counterparties. The legal and documentation services provided by Oesa have been developed to be an integral part of a clients overall risk management function. Kate Wormald founded Oesa in 2002 to provide “in house style” legal and trading documentation services to the hedge fund industry. For many years Kate worked for Salomon Brothers and then Goldman Sachs as a sales and trading lawyer and appreciates the demands of a trading environment and the need for timely, practical and commercial advice. She was also a senior consultant to the FSA in the Markets and Exchange Division before starting Oesa. Clients will benefit from Kate’s and her colleagues in depth knowledge of trading and how investment banks operate. The practical experience coupled with an intimate knowledge of relevant FSA principles and rules coupled with capital markets and derivatives law provide Oesa with the specialist knowledge required in today’s markets to advise hedge funds. Services include; Advisory – On matters relating to the legal and regulatory issues for hedge fund, broker dealers and small professional trading firms including Islamic funding requirements Project Management – Managing legal projects for start ups, New Fund launches, and setting up documentation legal reviews.
